A Distinct Identity

Biliary Atresia Malaysia Association was approved for registration by the Malaysian Registrar of Societies on 23 September 2014. The main objectives of its establishment are:

a) Provide support and information services to members and the community regarding biliary atresia.

b) Increase awareness about biliary atresia among the community in Malaysia.

c) Act as a support group for biliary atresia patients and fight for their basic rights in obtaining quality and best health services.

Until now this association has managed to gather more than 200 registered members from all corners of the country. Although it is still in the early stages of its establishment, various dialogue sessions between members and with the Malaysian Ministry of Health have already been held to discuss various ideas and suggestions as well as recommendations to improve deficiencies in various aspects regarding biliary atresia in Malaysia.
